TICKETS are on sale for a special show to celebrate 21 years of Music Night fundraising at the Joseph Rowntree Theatre in York.
Continuing the 21 theme, the party will be held on Sunday, December 21, starting at 6.30pm, rather than the usual 7.30pm to allow for post-show events and to “recognise that some patrons don’t necessarily want to be out too late on a cold winter’s night”.
The Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress of York, Councillor Ian Gillies and Mrs Pat Gillies, will be in attendance and will meet the performers, crew and other guests associated with 21 years of music-making, on stage, after the show.
Recordings of past concerts will be screened before the show and at the interval. The concert of popular songs and music from stage and screen will feature 16 performers, all of whom have been part of Music Night at one time or another, and the musical director will, as ever, be Don Pears. Birthday cake is promised too.
Tickets for Music Night’s 21st Birthday Party are available at £9, concessions £8, on 01904 639117, 01904 623568 and online at jrtheatre.co.uk. Proceeds will go to the Rowntree Theatre.
