IF the shoe fits, Amy Morris will fill the title role in Cinderella for the final week of the Grand Opera House pantomime in York.
"I am thrilled to be a part of this winter's Opera House pantomime and cannot wait to step into Cinderella’s shoes once more," said Amy, who has taken over from Norton actress Lauren Hood, now departed for a new acting commitment in London.
Amy is no stranger to playing Cinderella, having done so already in a pantomime career that also has taken in Princess Rosemary in Jack And The Beanstalk, Snow White in Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs and Princess Beauty in Sleeping Beauty.
Her performing life began at the age of three with Goscote Dance Studios in Syston, Leicester. Since graduating from Leicester College of Performing Arts with a diploma in musical theatre, she has worked for Tokyo Disneyland, where she featured in parades and special events as Princess Ariel and Alice in Alice In Wonderland.
Amy's travels took her to the Mediterranean on board the Thomson Spirit as a singer and dancer, where she had her own spotlight cabaret and played Sarah Brown in Guys And Dolls and Amber in Hairspray.
She continued her travels with Stiletto Entertainment on the Zaandam as a featured vocalist and dancer on a voyage to Asia, Alaska and Hawaii and latterly she has performed as part of My Favourite Things, a vintage girl act that tours theatres and festivals nationwide.
Cinderella will run until Sunday. Box office: 0844 871 3024 or at atgtickets.com/york
