The pupils of evergreen York dance teacher Miss Isobel Dunn present two performances of Dance Flash 2007 at the Grand Opera House tomorrow.
Produced and directed by Miss Dunn, this year 's show also features the choreographic talents of productions assistants Kirsty Higgins and Marilyn Forsyth (ballet); Katharine Fisher (tango); Catherine Finta (ballet, tap, freestyle); Valerie Clarke (tap); Samantha Small (Lindy Hop); and former pupil Emma Smith.
Emma is now studying dance tuition at York St John University as well as teaching at Miss Dunn's dance school, after returning from Paris, where she was the lead dancer at Nouvelle Eve and performed the Can-Can regularly. Aptly, the Can-Can is among the dances she has arranged for tomorrow's shows, along with Devils In Disguise, The Avengers and the adult jazz routine of Hero.
Along with Red Shoes Dance School pupil Pip Barclay, Victoria South, Kirsty Higgins and Natalie Herbert, Emma will join senior dancers to perform dances from Act 2 of Giselle.
As always, Dance Flash features dancers aged four to 60plus in a wide variety of dances and ballet routines, including the older girls and adults performing the waltz from Eugene Onegin; the youngest pupils dancing Nellie The Elephant; tap, modern and stage routines; the Pony Trot and Tutu Ballet.
Over the past four years, Dance Flash has donated almost £4,500 to Martin House, and once more proceeds will go to this hospice for children and young people. A representative of Martin House will be present at the 2.30pm and 7.30pm performances and a civic party will attend the matinee.
Tickets cost £6 to £10 on 0870 606 3595; concessions available.
