Kathryn Adams, 21, from Pensacola, Florida, began dancing at two and has danced ever since: tap, jazz, ballroom and tumbling. Now she is making her British debut in Playhouse Disney Live!, visiting the Grand Opera House, York, on Tuesday and Wednesday.

How did you join the wonderful world of Disney?

"I worked for the Disney park in Orlando, doing the Finding Nemo: The Musical and High School Musical 2 shows. I auditioned for the British tour in Orlando and joined last month."

What was your training for your career?

"I just did training on my own. I went to Florida State University to read English and I did performing arts and dance classes in my own time."

Describe the show?

"It's a new production and it's the first time these characters have been on stage together in one show.

"The characters are from The Little Einsteins; Handy Manny; My Friends Tigger And Pooh; and lots of characters from the Mickey Mouse Club, including Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy."

What is The Postess's role?

"She delivers the mail to all the Playhouse Disney characters. The premise is that Mickey is hosting a music party, and The Postess gets to deliver all the invitations, and at the finale, Mickey has his party."

How do you cope with three 75-minute shows in one day?

"The excitement of the children keeps us going."

It sounds exhausting. What are your plans after the tour ends?

"The show will go back to America, and I haven't yet decided what I'm going to do next, though I really love working for Disney and you never know what's on the horizon."

What are your personal and professional goals?

"Broadway, to break into film work and get my PhD in English Lit."
