SCOTT Garnham, the West End musical performer from Ryedale, will return to North Yorkshire on Sunday, January 23 to sing at the Grand Opera House, York.

He will appear in Direct From The West End, a two-hour journey through some of the world’s best-loved musicals, such as Les Misérables, The Phantom Of The Opera, Mamma Mia! Oliver!, West Side Story, Miss Saigon and Hairspray.

The cast will be led by Samantha Barks, from BBC1’s talent show I’d Do Anything, who is at present playing Eponine in the 25th anniversary West End production of Les Misérables, and Antony Hansen, from BBC1’s Any Dream Will Do, who soon will appear in Wicked at the Apollo Victoria Theatre, London.

The supporting cast of West End performers will feature Gina Beck, from Phantom; Killian Donnelly and Jeff Nicholson, from Les Les Misérables; Rachel Bingham, from The Sound Of Music; and Jessie May, from Mamma Mia!, as well as Scott Garnham.

From 2005, he studied at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, appearing in several productions on the Edinburgh Fringe en route to gaining a masters degree. Since graduating, his West End shows have included Eurobeat at the Novello Theatre, where he played Irish contender Ronan Corr in the Eurovison Song Contest satire in 2008, and he is now appearing as Feuilly in Les Misérables at the Queens Theatre.

Outside London, he has starred as Jose Reize in the British tour of the Take That musical Never Forget and performed in an adaptation of Jason & The Argonauts at the New Victory Theatre in New York.

Scott is also co-director of Music Ovation Ltd, the company responsible for producing the Direct From The West End tour.
