KIRKHAM Henry Performing Arts will present Showtime 2012, an all-singing, all-dancing spectacular for the family, at the Grand Opera House, York on Sunday, July 15.
Around 200 students at the Kirkham Henry Performing Arts Centre, in Malton, are busily putting the finishing touches to next weekend’s 3pm matinee and 7pm performance.
They will perform extracts from such shows as Stomp, High School Musical, Matilda, Bugsy Malone, Catch Me If You Can, The Glory Boys, Shrek The Musical, Footloose and Fame The Musical, plus songs from Sky TV’s Smash and the films Bring It On and Moulin Rouge.
Popular classical numbers will feature too, among them Prokofiev’s Peter And The Wolf and Cinderella, based on the choreography of Sir Frederick Ashton.
A bucket collection will be taken after each show in support of the Variety Club, the children’s charity. Tickets cost £16, concessions £13, on 0844 871 3024 or online at atgtickets.com/york
