Very fond memories of Mr Coates from primary school. Still have photos of the kite you taught me to make, it flew so well. A stand out teacher and a very lovely man. May you sleep peacefully, much love to your family.

I knew Max through his wife Dorothy, a lovely friend of mine. Max was always a true gentleman and always remembered me when I saw him in M&S Foods. Rest in peace xx

So sorry to read this news. Mr Coates was one of my favourite teachers at Haxby Rd Primary school and he was still a big part of their sports day when my son attended the school too.
Rest in peace xx
