GLASBY Jack In loving memory of Jack Glasby, former Head of Music at Joseph Rowntree School, New Earswick, who passed away peacefully on 6th February in Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, aged 96. An inspirational father, father-in-law, grandfather, friend and teacher whose presence and generosity of spirit will be greatly missed. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday 25th February at Gloucester Crematorium at 1.30pm. Family flowers only. Donations if desired in memory of Jack for his favourite charities (RNLI, Starlight Children's Foundation, Guide Dogs and The Salvation Army) may be sent c/o Goodwins Funeral Directors, Peter Scott House, 2 Heathville Road, Gloucester GL1 3DP. So sorry to hear of your loss, Howard and Carol. I always had the greatest respect for Jack, both as a teacher and as a man. I've often thought of him since leaving school in the 70s.
He will be missed by many.

Very sad to hear this news, I left JR in 1963, last spoke to Jack at the bridge near Huntington church some 25+ years later.
I remember with affection his renditions of Grieg's piano concerto No1.

Very sorry to hear of the passing of our old music teacher Mr Glasby or Jack as we affectionately knew him in the seventies.
A great teacher and a nice chap and may he rest in peace.
