BEAN Maureen (nee Power) (previously Grice) Peacefully at home on 8th August, aged 87 years. Beloved mother of Margaret, Tom and Paul and dear sister to Kate and Anthony and the late Millie. Much loved wife of the late Ken Grice and the late Charlie Bean. A wonderful friend to many and an inspiration to all who knew her. Requiem Mass at St Aelred's Roman Catholic Church, York on 30th August at 2pm. Family flowers only please. So very sorry to learn, somewhat belatedly, that Maureen passed last summer. My mum Pat Lewis (nee Coates) adored her. I always found her fabulous company, kind and so so funny. Between them they had some hilarious tales of giggling fits at the Bar Convent. I'm aware that Maureen went through some very difficult times, but we loved to see her. I'd like to think the pair of them are now rowing and swimming in the Ouse to their hearts' content. All my sincere condolences to all her family and friends. Hilary Ranahan nee Lewis xxx
