METCALFE Sidney Richard (Sid) Passed away suddenly on 11th November 2022 aged 99 in York Hospital. Loving dad of Shirley, Yvonne, Linda and the late Wendy. Much loved grandad, great-grandad and great-great-grandad. Will be sadly missed by us all. Funeral service to be held on Thursday 8th December 2022, 11am at St Lawrence's Church, York. Family flowers only, donations in Sid's memory to York Normandy Veterans, the Yorkshire Air Museum Control Tower Project and St Lawrence's Church. Hi my name is Bill Simpson the last time I saw Sid was at
my Dad, Ernest Simpson's funeral. I believe him and my Dad
were good friends and both great war heroes.
