STROUGHAIR John Richard The family are saddened to announce the death of John on 11th January after a long illness bravely borne aged 68. Well respected and friend of many, he will be dearly missed and cherished in our hearts forever. John a former technical director of Yorkshire house building contractors Barratt, Sketchmead and Persimmon Homes and latterly an independent building consultant. John was also a well-known county and local bowler, former Chairman of Woodhouse Grange Cricket Club, avid rugby league supporter and respected and knowledgeable person in many other sporting arenas and a gentleman amongst men. John was the son of the late Harold and Louisa and brother Robin, is survived by his wife Margaret, daughters Vicky, Emma, Dawn, son Ian, step daughter Nikki, nine grandchildren, one great grandchild and sister Janet and brother David. John's funeral will take place on Thursday, 9th February 2023 at 1pm at St Lawrence Parish Church followed by private cremation. No flowers please, donations etc to Barnado's and Salvation Army.
