SMITH Ronald Ron sadly but peacefully passed away, surrounded with love, at Minster Grange on 16th February 2023 aged 90. Loving husband to the late Marlene. Dear brother to Alan, Moira, Kathleen and the late Peter. Dear brother-in-law, uncle, friend and neighbour to many. Much loved uncle and godfather to Andrea. Missed so much already. Funeral service to be held at York Crematorium on Wednesday 15th March at 11.40am. Family flowers only please. To my uncle Ron I’m thinking about you It’s one whole year today that you went to heaven There’s been lots of hard times without you but I believe your watching over me and getting me through them especially the last 3 weeks Hope your having lots of catch up time with Alan Moira and Kathleen Your all together now. Merry Christmas uncle Ron. Just sat here reflecting on our family Christmas days we had together Happy happy times. Love and miss you so much and I wish I could have made you last two years better than they were uncle ron. Somehow we battled through together and I feel privileged to have being there for you. God bless you 🎄

I was a good friend of Ron's way back in the 50's I remember well his Mom Dad & Siblings, a great family

My Dad (Ron's younger brother, Alan Smith) was so sad when Ron passed. It really did affect him greatly. They had been so close in recent years, and he couldn't stop thinking about Ron not being there. They were both in ill health, and it was only 2 weeks later that Dad sadly passed away as well.
The brothers are all together now.
Mum and I will be with you at Ron's funeral tomorrow.
