MATTISON John Passed away on the 11th March 2023 aged 74 years. Funeral service to be held at York Crematorium on Thursday 30th March at 3.20pm. All enquiries to the Co-op Funeralcare Acomb, 01904 792893.

I'm sorry to hear of John's passing.

I never met John, but I've seen hundreds of his images of trains. His knowledge and passion for the subject are clear from the effort he went to in travelling all over the UK to capture the perfect image.

Reading the other tributes on this page gives me a small insight into the man himself. I would like to have known him.

We had the great honour of supporting John whilst he was at home. All who supported John adored him , A kind and funny man who loved life. He will be sadly missed but always remain with us.

John was a resident at Langley House for almost 4 years. We found him to be a gentle and kind man. He will be sorely missed by the residents and management. Goodbye and God rest John.

John has been a friend to my family for over 40 years. He was a kind, gentle man with an absolute love of trains. Many hours were spent in the company of other train enthusiasts at York Station where he was known to many. He will be sadly missed.
