JENKINS Sally On 17th April 2023, Sally Elizabeth Jenkins, English Language teacher, animal lover, and invisible philanthropist, passed away on the Isle of Wight before she could return home to York. She was sixty-six years old. Service to take place at York crematorium on Friday 9th June 2023 at 1:40pm. A plate will be provided for donations in lieu of flowers to Mind. I worked with Sally for many years at the University of York. She was an exceptional teacher who was loved by her students. We still use Sally's excellent lessons in our department! Sally was also a very friendly and helpul colleague and good fun to be with when out socialising too. The care she showed for her friends, students and colleagues was also evident in her care for animals, wildlife and the environment more generally.

I will remember Sally, as a colleague, for her strength of character, her sense of fun and her love of teaching. Very sad to lose her when she had so much more living to do.

I am so saddened to hear of Sally's passing. She was a wonderful colleague at the University of York, and made me feel very welcome when I was new to the department. She was also a warm and caring person and a gifted teacher, who was very committed to her students. It was a pleasure to know her and I will miss her dearly. May she rest in peace.
