SCOTT John Alston, BEM Passed away peacefully on 7th June at York Hospital, aged 95 years. John was a former journalist who worked at the York Press and the Yorkshire Post for over 40 years. He is survived by his wife Meriel, daughter Penny and grandchildren James and Louise. A much loved husband, father and grandfather, he will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Service to be held at York Crematorium on Monday 26th June at 10.20 am. No flowers please. Donations in lieu may be given to Cancer Research UK or to Parkinsons UK.
