GILROY Nicholas Stuart (Nick) Of York. Died suddenly in York Hospital on July 29th 2023 aged 64 years. Nick was much loved and will be very sadly missed by all his family and friends. Funeral service to be held at York Crematorium on Thursday 7th September at 1.00pm. Family flowers only please but donations if desired may be given for Help For Heroes, a plate will be provided at the service. All enquiries to Adam Collier Funeral Services Tel.01439 772340.

Had the pleasure of knowing Nick for many many years . Worked with him in early 80’s at RAF Shawbury ,as SAC Blip drivers. Nick was loud and opinionated when he had a drink in him , but never to be taken seriously . Had a citron Diana with a gear shift on the dash board , which he loved and drove with the roof rolled back . Think Alan Partridge was based on him ! Even said argh argh while quaffing his beer. Had an on off relationship with a n SACW called Jill who worked in the Tower. Great knowledge of aircraft types and loved using different voices while simulator driving. Feel lucky to have met him . RIP mate
