PEOPLE are invited to help plant a new wood at the University of York.
From 11am to 1pm on Sunday, trees will be planted to form the new Diamond Wood at the University of York’s East campus.
The Woodland Trust has joined with the university to create one of 60 special Diamond Woods.
The 60-acre site at Kimberlow Hill on the campus extension will support a wide range of wildlife.
So far, the university has planted 55,000 British trees on the site, and will plant another 10,000 with the local community this month.
