A COW and its calf and a minature donkey and its foal have been stolen from a farm in North Yorkshire.
The grey female Zebu cow and its white and brown month-old calf and a minature grey donkey and foal were taken from Thorpe Hill Farm, Thorpe Underwood, near Green Hammerton, sometime between 8pm on Wednesday, January 16 and 9am on Thursday, January 17.
The Zebu cow originates from the Indian sub-continent and are very distinctive animals with a hump on their shoulders and drooping ears, police said.
The stolen cow has further distinguishing features with its left horn pointing upwards as normal but with the right horn pointing forwards.
PC Alister Wilson said: “These animals are very distinctive and are usually only found on petting farms or in wildlife parks. “I would also like to hear from you if you have been offered these unusual animals for sale.”
