POLICE carried out stop-checks on a road where a 39-year-old woman was badly injured, as they continued to investigate the crash.
The victim, named locally as mother-of-two Rosina Seabright, is still in a serious condition in hospital following the accident at about 10.15pm on January 26, when she was hit by a small, dark car as she crossed Forest Drive in Colburn, near her home
North Yorkshire Police stopped drivers on the road on Saturday night, a week on from the crash, to appeal for information. Traffic Constable Tony Leonard said police hoped to “jog the memories” of anybody who may have clues.
Officers are looking for the driver of the car that collided with the woman and also the driver of a car that swerved to avoid her. Any witnesses of local garage workers who may have carried out repairs to the vehicle involved in the crash are asked to phone police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
