A ROAD in Beverley is to remain closed until at least the middle of the week after a sewer collapsed.
As reported in The Press, Keldgate was sealed off on January 22 because the sewer problem had led to a wall becoming unstable. It is believed to have been caused by high levels of groundwater.
Engineers have dismantled the wall and repaired a void under the road. East Riding of Yorkshire Council said work should be completed early this week.
The council said the work had to be carried out carefully because gas, water, electricity and communications links lie nearby.
