WEDDING preparations with an Asian flavour were the order of the day at a York hotel as it broke new ground in helping couples prepare to tie the knot.

The Royal York Hotel staged its first Asian Wedding Fair yesterday, with its team of wedding planners hosting tours around the venue’s events centre, which was specially decked out for the occasion to give couples an idea of how their big day could look.

Asian wedding suppliers from across the UK, including caterers, photographers and videographers, florists and henna and make-up artists, were on hand to give out advice.

Couples who booked an Asian wedding package at the Royal York during yesterday’s three-and-a-half-hour event secured a ten per cent discount.
