Seven students from York College who have been offered places at Oxford or Cambridge this year.
They are:
Dan Kozelko (formerly of Barlby High School) who hopes to study law at Downing College, Cambridge; Harriet Gray (formerly of Manor CE School) who aims to study French and Spanish at St Hilda’s College, Oxford; Jade Cuttle (formerly of Barlby High School) will aims to study French & Italian at Pembroke College, Cambridge; Josh Meikle (formerly of Manor CE School) who hopes to study philosophy, politics and economics at New College, Oxford; Oscar Powell (formerly of All Saints RC School) aims to take Natural Sciences at Peterhouse, Cambridge; Peter Bock (formerly of Huntington School) plans to study human, social and political sciences at St Catharine’s College, Cambridge and Emily Freeman (formerly of St Peter’s School) aims to study Fine Art at Ruskin and Balliol College, Oxford.
Miggy Biller, head of division for maths and co-ordinator of Oxbridge applications at York College, said: “Out of the seven successful candidates, six are A-Level students and one, Emily, is a vocational student. She is studying a Foundation Diploma in Art and Design. This is a reflection of the support given to gifted students, especially through the College’s Sirius Group.
“They have all done extremely well to be selected and it is fantastic to see the range of talent among them.”
