THIEVES broke into two city centre cafes in York at the weekend.
The offenders stole food and drink from Dyl’s Café Bar on Skeldergate Bridge, which is undergoing renovation work, and Hartley’s Café, on Lendal Bridge.
Police believe the thieves carried the stolen goods from Hartley’s using a large blue tray, and urged anyone who saw them to contact police.
PC Amy Littlejohns said: “Both locations are fairly busy with people and traffic, even after dark, and I am appealing to anyone who was out and about last Sunday night to contact the police or Crimestoppers if they saw any unusual behaviour.”
