A VILLAGE pub that launched its own brewery has collected an award after being named the best in all of East Yorkshire.
The Goodmanham Arms in Goodmanham, near Market Weighton, won the village pub of the year award from the Hull and East Yorkshire branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (Camra).
The branch chairman Angela Cawte presented licensees Abbie and Vito Logozzi with a framed certificate at the weekend, in front of a coach full of locals and Camra members.
Five pubs had been nominated and the Railway Inn in Cottingham was runner-up.
Angela said: “It is very reassuring to see that our branch is served by pubs whose licensees put so much effort into dedicating themselves to providing the real ale drinker with a superb quality beer in excellent surroundings.”
Abbie and Vito bought the pub in early 2010 and the pub launched its own All Hallows brewery last year after Abbie undertook a course.
