A YORK graduate is returning to his university to share the secrets of success with today’s students in a masterclass.
Playwright Nick Payne has won the 2009 George Devine Award, the Harold Pinter Playwright’s Award and the 2012 Evening Standard Award for Constellations, which opened in the West End in November.
Another of his plays had a New York run with Jake Gyllenhaal heading the cast and the National Theatre will premiere his next play in its autumn season this year.
He graduated with a degree in English/Writing and Performance from the University of York in 2006 and will conduct a masterclass at its Department of Theatre, Film and Television on February 13, at 5.30pm.
The event, which is free of charge, will include performances of sequences from Constellatins, a dialogue with the audience and an interview with the playwright.
