I KNOW you have published many letters concerning First York buses, but I feel I have to write to you about my journey home to Acomb on Tuesday evening.
I waited at Ouse Bridge at 5.15pm for the Number 14 (I had a return ticket).
I waited and I waited. Several Park&Ride buses, numerous half-empty Unibuses and No 4s passed me. A No 10 would only take me to Boroughbridge Road, so I let that go.
By this time it was 6.15pm. Another No 10 came, so I jumped on and walked 15 minutes to my home. I arrived at 7.15pm.
So trying to get home took me two hours – completely unacceptable.
Rush hours and road works are part and parcel of a journey, but when a bus just doesn’t turn up leaving customers to walk, I feel that First Bus is leaving Beckfield Lane residents literally out in the cold.
Mrs I Attmere, Beckfield Lane, York.
