THE owners of a pub in York, which closed without warning two years ago say they are looking for a new licensee to take on the business.
The Britannia Inn in Acomb Green was boarded up in April 2011, but owners Daniel Thwaites described the closure as “temporary” and said it was currently advertising for owners.
Andrew Buchanan, director of pub operations at the Lancashire-based brewers, said: “The Britannia has temporarily closed while we recruit a new licensee. We’re committed to finding the right tenants who will be popular with locals and who have the skills to drive the business. As part of our ongoing refurbishment programme, we’ll be investing in The Britannia.”
