PUPILS and staff at a York primary school are celebrating moving up the Ofsted rankings.
Badger Hill primary was rated satisfactory three years ago, but a recent inspection gave the school an overall rating of good, taking it closer to the top grade of outstanding.
Head teacher Andrea Hellam said she and the school team were determined to rise to the challenge of school improvement.
She said: “Badger Hill serves a diverse community and the staff and governors see this as a real strength. It was noted by the Ofsted inspector that the children ‘take inspiration from the school’s aims and values as a multi-cultural community, and this contributes significantly to their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development’.”
Chairman of governors, Mark Widd, said: “This really has been a joint effort with pupils, the head and her staff and the governors all working as a team to improve the standards of the school. We are incredibly proud of what we have achieved.”
