GLYN SUNMAN’S ironic letter of February 7 about the latest high-rise building to appear on the old tech college site at Dringhouses, which will hopefully provide affordable homes, reminds me that another similar building was originally planned to be erected on the opposite side of the entry road to the new estate.
I wonder if this is still to be built and, if so, can it be designed to appear less like a modern penitentiary?
Funny how the “normal” houses further back from Tadcaster Road were built first, despite the objections of the local planning panel, and are now going be shielded from view by these tenements.
When finished will the whole development provide the 360-odd homes which were originally approved?
