THE organisers of the Yorkshire Marathon are looking for local bands, musicians and other entertainers to join them on marathon day and give a party atmosphere to the event.
Organisers are looking for all types of musicians, cheerleaders and street dancers to provide some colour and raise the spirits of runners.
They are urging anyone “who can come along and help make it a really special and memorable day for the thousands of runners” to get in touch Entertainers will be at key positions along the route as well as at the start and finish, helping spur on the runners.
Event lead Lynne Preston said: “We want the first ever Plusnet Yorkshire Marathon to be an experience to remember. We want to create a real party atmosphere all around the course and we’d love to hear from all those talented Yorkshire musicians, bands and dancers who could come along and help create a real buzz on event day.”
The York event, which will take place on October 20, will see thousands of runners take part in the marathon which takes in the city centre and the Minster as well as surrounding villages.
