THERE have been several stories in The Press recently regarding balloon or Chinese lantern releases.
Could I respectfully draw attention to the problems caused in the environment, especially the marine environment by these releases, to anyone considering such an event.
All the information regarding this, as well as alternative ways of celebrating someone’s life, can be found on the Marine Conservation Society’s website at mcsuk.org
On the site there are also details about regular beach cleans, which are carried out on the Yorkshire coast, for which volunteers are always needed.
