THANKS to the overwhelming generosity of people in the city, York’s food bank is appealing for help in finding warehouse space to store its supplies.
Volunteers at the Acomb-based food bank said they have been overwhelmed with donations since it was launched late last year and are now looking to find more warehouse space.
Manager Caleb Ellwood said: “People have been so generous that we’re really struggling for space to keep it all. We’re wondering whether there might be a business or property owner out there who has some warehouse space, or even just a corner in a warehouse, that we could use to stack food.”
The food bank has used The Press offices as an overspill warehouse but said it now needs bigger premises to store food. Anyone who can help the food bank should email caleb@gatewaychurch.co.uk
