AN inquest into the sudden death of a woman at her flat in York has been opened.
Mother-of-one Michelle MacLean, 46, was found at her flat in Prospect House, Bishophill Junior, on February 8.
North Yorkshire coroner Donald Coverdale opened the inquest into her death yesterday, at New Earswick Folk Hall.
He told the inquest Mrs MacLean had visited her doctor two days prior to her death with a chest complaint, and that her husband, Adrian MacLean, had found her “slumped and unresponsive on the floor” of the bathroom of her flat on the evening of February 8.
Despite efforts from paramedics to resuscitate her, Mrs MacLean was pronounced dead at about 9pm that evening.
Mrs MacLean, who leaves a 24- year-old daughter, Jade, was born in York and went to Burnholme School.
Last week, The Press spoke to Mrs MacLean’s mother, Jenny Howard, who said her daughter was “lovely, caring and had a heart of gold”, but had gone “down the wrong path”.
The inquest was adjourned to a later date, to allow toxicology reports to be completed.
