YORK RI Under-12s are appealing for new players to help them end the York Mitchell Sports Football League season on a high.
Because of players joining other clubs or dropping out, the New Lane-based club have a depleted squad with seven division one matches left to play this season – plus a York FA Acaster Steel Cup semi-final against Brooklyn next month.
Would-be players should be in Year 7 at school and, because of FA rules, cannot currently be signed to another club.
Coach Mark Walker said: “We’re a friendly club with a talented squad and the RI has some excellent facilities.
“It’s just unfortunate we find ourselves short of players right now.”
Training sessions are held on Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings, with matches played on Sundays at 11am.
Walker added: “Our team focuses on enjoying football, both in training and in matches.
“It’s a great way to keep fit and build up new friendships.
“York RI has a lot to offer to youngsters who are prepared to get stuck in.”
Anyone interested in joining the club should phone Walker on 07584 994221 to arrange a trial.
