A FUNDRAISING dinner brought in hundreds of pounds for a church repair project which is now more than halfway towards its £100,000 target.
Former Radio York presenter Sandy Dunleavy was the guest speaker at the dinner, for All Saints’ Curch, Wistow, near Selby.
She spoke about her life at the radio station and her earlier days in the Army. The dinner was held in the Methodist church and raised £657, which an appeal official called “a great effort”.
The All Saints Church, Wistow, £100,000 Heritage Appeal is for cash to carry out much-needed repairs to the church’s fabric.
Almost £51,000 has already been raised.
