A Best of British 1940s dance night is to be held for an Alzheimer’s disease charity.
Singer Brenda Mackfall, 79, has arranged a dance party in Tramways Club on March 7, which will include a pie-and-peas dinner, jazz and swing music, a bar and a raffle.
It will be held from 7.30pm-11pm.
Dressing up is optional but Brenda, who has been singing for charity for 53 years, hoped that as many people as possible will dress up in 1940s dresses and uniforms.
She said: “It should be a really fun night. I am decorating the hall, which holds 150 people, red, white and blue in celebration of Britain! I never normally do things like this. I normally hold singing shows, but this is a one-off.”
Tickets are £4, and can be purchased by phoning Brenda on 01759371900.It is a ticket-only event, and tickets cannot be bought on the door.
