NORTHERN Powergrid York & District Table Tennis League division one leaders Coneysthorpe ‘A’ whitewashed their ‘B’ side, with Martin Lowe, Ashley Hodgson and Joel Wright successful.
RI ‘A’ won their in house match against their ‘B’ side 8-2 as Mick Wilcockson and Paul Robertson impressed.
Bootham A whitewashed University ‘A’, with Jon Wooldridge, Jimmy Mills and Jo Suchecki too good.
In division two, RI ‘E’ received a setback to their promotion ambitions when they crashed 8-2 to Shepherds ‘B’, who had Nathan Taylor and Andy Fletcher in fine form. Shepherds ‘A’ and Shepherds ‘C’ fought out a draw.
Shepherds ‘D’ whitewashed Aviva ‘A’ in division three with Chris Hutchinson, Paul Kozyra and Mick Surtees unbeaten.
Bootham ‘F’ upset Bootham ‘E’, winning 7-3 thanks to a fine display from Steve Long.
BT ‘B’ went down narrowly to University ‘B’ despite a good performance from Jim Stevenson.
Pete Taylor ensured RI ‘H’ were stopped in their tracks as he steered Holgate ‘D’ to an 8-2 win, which gives them a real chance of avoiding a relegation play-off, with the losers now in trouble.
In division four, Hartrigg Oaks thumped RI ‘K’ 9-1, with John Mitchell and Mike Brookes undefeated, though Jenna Pavis doubled the losers’ points tally for the season.
Nigel Baker guided Shepherds ‘E’ to an 8-2 win over RI ‘I’.
