About the Golf Club
SWALLOW Hall at Crockey Hill, near York, was founded in 1991 as a nine-hole golf course.
A further nine holes were added in 1992 following the initial success of the original course.
It is now a beautifully maintained 18-hole golf course and floodlit driving range with tuition available upon request.
The golf course offers some very demanding holes, including the infamous 517-yard 12th hole.
Limited membership is available.
Green fees begin at £14 for a round of 18 holes and £7 for the nine-hole academy course.
The driving range costs £1 per token for 30 balls and has recently been refurbished and is now floodlit.
The clubhouse developed slowly from an original garden shed to the purpose-built Swallows Nest over a two-year construction period.
It now provides golfers with a wide choice of meals from the menu every day, with the exception of Sundays, when the club’s renowned Swallows Nest Carvery is served.
