A MAN has been arrested after a teenager was knocked unconscious in an assault in Selby.
The 19-year-old man was found unconscious on the ground in Finkle Street by a passing police officer at 2.20am on Saturday, February 16.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said a possible assault had been captured on CCTV, which showed the man had been unconscious for about four minutes before he came to. The CCTV footage also showed another man fleeing the scene across Selby Market Place.
An ambulance was called to the scene, and the teenager was taken to York Hospital, and treated for minor injuries including grazing to the ear and a headache. He was released from hospital later that day.
Police arrested a 19-year-old man in connection with the alleged assault at a nearby property at 2.35am on Saturday. He has since been released on police bail.
