STAFF at a York primary school are preparing to take part in a table tennis marathon to help pay for a school trip to London.
The staff at Clifton Green Primary School will try to complete the 12-hour “pingpongathon” at Clifton Methodist Church on Saturday to help raise money for a Year Six trip to the capital to see the sights and take in a West End show.
John Hattam, from the school, said: “Last years, Year Six had a wonderful time in London and we hope this year’s trip will be as successful.
“Year Six have been trying to fill up sponsorship forms for the event and we invite anybody to come along and watch the sporting spectacle. We hope people maybe able to spare a few pennies and enjoy a cuppa too.”
The session will run between 9am and 9pm, with staff taking it in turns throughout the day.
