A PERSONAL trainer based in York is looking for novice female runners who have entered the Yorkshire Marathon to take part in a training programme with her and Look North.
Babs Shiells, who is working with BBC presenter Harry Gration as he prepares for the marathon, is offering free tailored training in the city.
She said: “I would like to hear from anyone who is looking for a little support in preparing for their first marathon.
“Maybe they have entered on the spur of the moment and are now wondering how they are going to do it, maybe you see it as a way to lose weight or raise money in memory of a friend or family member.”
The training programme – which is also intended to feature in the BBC programme – will include the Race for Life on June 2, the York 10K on August 4 and then the marathon at the end of October.
Contact Miss Shiells by emailing babs@barbarashiells.com or phoning 07500 839218.
