Picture of a plane being shot down in 1939
THIS plane I and many others witnessed being shot down by three Spitfires of City of Glasgow squadron over Bo’ness on the River Forth on October 16, 1939.
The bullet damage is remarkably close to the damage shown on the plane in the picture of Captain Peter Townsend in The Press of February 18.
