A WOMAN who died in a road traffic accident near Bridlington yesterday has been named.
Jennie Stone, 28, died when the blue Peugeot 206 she was driving was involved in a collision on the A165 at Fraisthorpe, East Yorkshire, at about 9.15am yesterday.
Ms Stone's car and a silver Vauxhall Astra, driven by a 20-year-old woman, were both apparently travelling north and overtaking a blue and white Daf rigid truck when the two cars were in a collision.
The Peugeot then collided with a tree at the nearside of the carriageway.
Fire, ambulance and police all attended but Ms Stone was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Road closures were put in place and the road re-opened again at 3.10pm.
Investigations into the cause of the collision are now underway and witnesses are being sought, Humberside Police said.
Officers are keen to trace the two motorists who were both heading towards Bridlington along with anyone else who was in the area at the time.
Any witnesses are asked to contact Humberside Police on 101.
