A WANTED York man whose disappearance sparked a city-wide manhunt has been arrested today.
North Yorkshire Police has confirmed officers arrested Ryan Macleod, 21, at a house in Clifton at 12.25pm. He was wanted for questioning in connection with an attack in the outdoor smoking area at the Castle Howard Ox pub, on Townend Street, last November.
Macleod was also wanted for recall to prison after breaching the terms of his release licence, with his disappearance leading to numerous police appeals for help to track him down.
"Macleod's arrest is the result of the good police work which officers have carried out to locate him," said Detective Inspector David Kirby of York CID.
"I would like to thank the members of the public across York who supplied us with information about his whereabouts. Their assistance was of great help throughout the hunt for Macleod."
A 21-year-old woman was arrested yesterday for assisting an offender unlawfully at large and obstructing the police, and has been released on bail.
