YORK eco-champion Kate Lock has been shortlisted in a nationwide search by WWF to find Britain’s unsung environmental heroes.
The competition – called Hidden Heroes – has been launched as part of WWF’s Earth Hour at 8.30pm on March 23.
The Press columnist Kate is in the running for a £500 prize to support a green initiative of her choice.
If successful, she will be invited to receive her award and celebrate Earth Hour at a ceremony in London.
Kate is involved with a large number of groups including the York Environment Forum and York Rotters, and she has worked as a mentor with York Green Neighbourhoods Challenge.
