I WAS under the impression that the recent House of Commons vote on the legalisation of same-sex marriage was a free vote and not intended to be political.
Yet Coun Carol Runciman (Letters, February 13) seems to be less than liberal in criticising Julian Sturdy MP for presumably following his conscience and voting on this issue the way he did.
