A COUNCILLOR whose role is to speak up for older people is in the running for a national award.
Coun Shelagh Marshall, who is North Yorkshire County Council’s older people’s champion, has been shortlisted for the Age UK Award at the Local Government Information Unit Councillor Achievement Awards.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony in London on Monday.
