I MUST thank Coun Chris Steward for his prompt reply to my letter requesting clarification of his assertion (Letters, February 13) that we would be better off if we froze council tax.

Unfortunately in his reply (Letters, February 19) he merely reiterates his original letter and ignores the question I asked, which was, “No waffle or statistics-just the simple amounts involved and why one is the better or necessary choice.”

I welcome a second try.
