HOSPICE charity shops across York and North and East Yorkshire are gearing up for a fashion spectacular.
Staff in the seven charity shops of St Leonard’s Hospice in York are hard at work preparing for the fundraising fashion show, which takes place on Wednesday, April 11. The show will offer a selection of top fashion bargains while raising funds for the Tadcaster Road charity’s work.
Volunteers who work in the shops at Acomb, Broadway, Haxby, Scarcroft Road, and Tang Hall in York, and in Pocklington and Selby will join a number of customers as models for the show, which will take place at the Gateway Centre in Front Street, Acomb.
Sunny Alison, retail manager at St Leonard’s, said: “When everyone is looking for a bargain, our fashion show is a great chance to find a new couture bargain.
“It’s always a great night, so we hope lots of people will come along to see and buy the clothes and accessories and help raise funds for the work of the Hospice.’
There will be a wide range of clothes and accessories on show, from smart to casual. All the items in the show have been donated, and will be for sale at bargain prices.
Despite preparations for the show being well under way, the shops are still pleased to receive good-quality clothes and accessories for sale that could feature on the catwalk.
Tickets for the show, which will start at 7pm, cost £5 and will include a welcome drink.
They are on sale from all the St Leonard’s Hospice shops, from the fundraising office at the hospice or by phoning 01904 409152.
