ENERGY-SAVING plans could see the glass dome of a town’s famous Turkish baths being double-glazed.
Harrogate Borough Council is looking at cutting its energy bills and becoming more environmentally friendly by reducing carbon emissions.
The proposals include less lighting at a multi-storey car park in the town. Members of the authority’s cabinet will this week be asked to support proposals to install double glazing at the Harrogate baths, after officers said it could halve heat loss.
However, concerns have been raised about how the scheme would affect the appearance of the Turkish Baths, which are based in a listed building.
